Party
Poker no longer accepts US players!
is currently the biggest poker room in terms of players for real money live
poker. Because of their widespread name and huge advertising budget, this
poker room brings in lots of newbies ready to be plucked. But be warned,
where there's prey, there's bound to be predators. I suggest
that with so many tables in action, that you be quick to move if you don't
win at the table you're currently playing.
Party
Poker
allows up to 3 tables played at the same time. It does not provide some
information that I'd like to see; such as "players to view flop" percentage
and the hourly hand rate (to help avoid slow players). It does have player
notes.
They offer the option to start your own private table that needs a
password to get in. Play in "fun money" - "real money
tables."
be sure to remember
that there is an option whether you want to have on the player chat,
or not: just in case the conversation takes an undesirable
direction. And because they
offer this option, the chat is pretty much without any kind of
filter or authority so expect the occasional insulting or unpleasant
remark to find its way into the chat box.
Tournaments galore! In fixed, and no limit
table stakes for the game Texas Hold'em, Also many tournaments for 7 card
stud and Omaha.
The rake is rather steep at 10% in $0.50/$1
and $1/$2 games, as 50 cent is raked when the pot reaches $5. The
tournaments have good value only in the higher stakes games.
Party
Poker
has frequent re-deposit promotions where you can get 15% to 25% up to $100
max. They also have many free rolls plus special bonuses for players that
have accumulated a set amount of raked hands for the month. Refer a
friend and get $50.
Support basically sux. However, the
software is competent even if the support staff isn't, and therefore I've
had little reason to ever contact them.
