My guarantee covers the money you most recently deposited.  It is a sincere gesture that if a casino (or poker room)  doesn't pay you on a legitimate cash-in  (without fraud/bonus abuse),   which is how the majority of cheating is done, by non-payment of funds:  then I will pay you with my own money the cost of your last deposit so that at the least,  you are not out any money from your own pocket.

Texas Two Card hold'em Poker tips for high stakes games

High stakes poker ; Texas two card hold'em; my game changes very little despite the stakes of the game. however, that is not true with most players. I play my hand for my hand, and seldom bet (but usually call) until I have either filled my hand at which time I become aggressive and bet; or if I see my hand may not be the best hand; I check/call; and if/when it becomes apparent I don't have any kind of hand, I fold. I also bluff but that is a page in itself. Bluffing is an essential part of poker.

Players of high stakes poker games usually do one of three things; they are either playing "above their heads" and won't call on hands they should have stayed in for, or the more noticeable, therefore seemingly more common; bully-type player that is always betting and raising (and taking many of the hands with this method), and the third type, which I think is like me; just betting when they have something to bet on; but calling as long as they feel they're in the running to win the hand. (there's the fourth type, the shark, but they're the pros and there's nothing you can do but learn to spot them and then get out or try your luck against one). True sharks are rare but there are a lot of wannabe sharks which usually fall into the bully category. A shark really plays no different than the average player, what they excel at is knowing to spot when to stay in and when to get out. Sharks do not get any better cards than the next person does; on a long-term basis. But they've learned to not play on bad days, to move up the stakes on good days, and they've learned to figure which times are "money-sensible" times to either stay or fold.

This info is mainly from experience at the "maximum 6" tables.

expect to be raised on every hand before the flop. (flop = first 3 cards face up on table)

expect players to raise on weak hands trying to scare off competition that might later snag two pair and overcome their aces.

expect to be "ambushed". In other words, if an ace, ten and deuce are showing from the flop; and you've got a ten, and you bet it; you might get raised from someone playing "possum", who was holding an ace and didn't bet it the first time around. This is known as "check-raising".

expect for the table to have a "feel". they all do and its up to you to figure out the algorithm and play accordingly. This is in my opinion the most important thing about poker when playing a fixed limit game.Note - I read constantly about all kinds of gambling-related stuff and poker is no different. After reading a couple of books by what are suppose to be the best including Slansky and Malmuth, that I now realize I was wording this tip wrong. By saying a "feel for the table" I had meant that you should assess the action and if you are seeing a lot of big hands like straights and flushes, expect that you too will likely need to be willing to go the distance against these players and that you will likely need more than a pair to beat them. However, a lot can be made from players that stay in trying to fill a straight of flush. Make them pay for the privilege of chasing those kinds of hands by betting hard early on and even raising them with a middle pair. For example, if you hold an ace and a nine and a flush or straight draw flop falls, say a king clubs, a nine of clubs and a six of diamonds hit the table, if somebody bets they are likely betting on the fact that they will complete that flush or straight. Raise them so and keep pressure on them until another card falls that might complete their hand, and then depending where you are in the hand, you can always fold. But a flush draw only gets completed occasionally and by making them pay with your raises, they likely won't be getting the better end of things when the dust settles. This is also a good reason for raising before the flop if you have a strong hand like Ace and king suited.

* No limit Texas hold'em is a whole other game to itself. No-limit any kind of poker is a whole other game to itself. By it's very name it tells you that the nature of this game has no limits so be prepared to lose every single dollar you bring to the table on the merits of any given hand if challenged.

Before joining the game, an edge is often gained by watching the other players and figuring out what type of player they are; and then play them accordingly. Takes about 5 min for them to start showing their colors.

If you are losing hand after hand...... MOVE TABLES!!! I'm always amazed at people that will sit at the table and keep losing all the while bitching about losing..... but they never do the one obvious thing to fix the problem. Quit playing there!

Sometimes I have to move to three different tables or pokerrooms before I hit that "sweet run" that I'm always seeking.

*please note; I have only played up to the $10/$20 tables, and am not entirely comfortable there; but I do frequent the $5/$10 tables regularly and I can tell you there is a big difference in how you should "expect" others to play the game at those stakes, and how you should expect them to play at the low stakes Texas hold'em poker games
