will help you to learn about the game in a quick and easy to understand manner.
Basic
Rules All poker games use a standard 52 card deck, and the cards are ranked:
Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace. (Aces count as both high and
low). Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts and Spades are all of equal value.
The aim is to have the best hand out of the cards you are dealt, with the following
winning hands listed in order of rank.
*keep in mind whatever version of
poker game you happen to be playing: the rank of winning hands never changes.
Royal Flush
The ultimate hand, the Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten of any one suit.

Straight Flush
A straight in one suit, i.e. five cards of the same suit in ascending order.

Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same value.

Full House
Three of a kind and a pair, with the three of a kind counts first.

*this is my own opinion of the game; others may feel differently, but I
believe you
must play the game for the game: disregarding the bets ..... for the most part.
Because of the element of "bluffing" - betting big even though you have nothing;
, you cannot judge what another player has by the increase/decrease of
bets.I hasten to
add that I have won many games simply by choosing to stay in to the end; on those
hands where I have paid to stay in through all but the last round of betting. In
other words; in a game of 7 card: if you had a pair of tens and paid to stay
through all 7 cards; as long as no other hand is showing it can beat you; stay in
for the last round of betting. You might be surprised to find out that the guy that
has been betting every chance he gets; doesn't have crap. Either way,
you paid to get to see his cards for 7 rounds of betting; make them prove they can
beat you; it's only one more round of bets.
